Scott Wood
Operations Expert
Scott grew up in the aggregate industry with Wood’s Sand & Gravel in Kingston. He has worked as Aggregate Manager-Dibblee Construction (Kingston), Portable Crushing Manager Eastern Canada-Lafarge, Operations Manager-Aggregates-National Capital Region-Lafarge, Area Manager-Sales & Operations-Southern Ontario-Dyno Nobel and currently works at G. Tackaberry & Sons Construction Company.

David Ketcheson
Environmental Expert
David Ketcheson works for Azimuth Environmental Consulting, Inc., an environmental consulting firm with considerable expertise in pit and quarry work. The company specializes in hydrogeology, contaminant hydrogeology, remediation, fractured rock flow and transport (limestones & “hard rock” / shield environments), aquatic and terrestrial biology, including “Species at Risk” and HADD negotiations.

Keith Taylor
Blasting Expert
Keith Taylor is a veteran driller/blaster with Austin Powder Company. He also sits on the Canadian Explosives Distributors Association Board of Directors and trade board for blasting for the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.

Jim Wilson
Archeaology Expert
Jim Wilson is a licensed archaeological consultant who specializes in the pre-contact Aboriginal and early historic occupations of Ontario. Over the past 20 years Jim has directed numerous surveys and excavations for more than 100 aggregate sites in Ontario.

Robert Rimrott
Acoustics, Noise & Vibration Expert
Robert Rimrott joined Aercoustics Engineering Limited in 1992. He has completed numerous projects involving noise impact from planned stationary sources, as well as noise impact studies for residential developments. Robert is recognized as an expert in acoustics by the Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Natural Resources, and has provided expert testimony in the forum of the Ontario Municipal Board Hearings.

Kevin Trimble
Biological Services Expert
Kevin Trimble heads Golder Associates Ltd.’s team of bioscience experts who con-
duct a variety of assessments of ecological resources across multiple industry sectors.
 

 
Can wood and fiberglass materials, such as boats, be disposed of at a gravel pit?

NO - aggregate operations are strictly licenced under a piece of important government legislation called the Aggregate Resources Act, which clearly states that we are not able to bring any materials on site, except (with the proper municipal and provincial approvals) for the importation of topsoil for rehabilitation purposes, and for the importation of construction materials for recycling purposes.

Please contact your local municipality re: disposal options, or you might want to try a marine repair facility.
